In The News

The French Connection by Joanne Blain. In 2008, More Magazine Canada sent a journalist (travel writer extraordinaire Joanne) and a photographer (the wonderful Laura Arsie) to follow us around with tour groups and document everything (no pressure there!). Click here to read the wonderful 9-page, 21 photo result.

Reinvent Yourself Abroad by Nicole Blades. In 2011, More Magazine USA contacted me to be part of a story highlighting women who boldly left their comfortable lives to start businesses internationally and experience different cultures, foreign countries and languages. I happened to be in Canada at the time but told them that I would be happy to participate. They asked if they could fly me to Paris for a picture with their preferred photographer and I said “bien sur!” In Paris, after a whirlwind make-up and hair session in the 9th arrondissement, we had a fun photo shoot in the Marais with photographer Amboise Tezenas and his lovely assistants. I am honored to have crossed paths with author Marybeth Bond who has become a dear friend; she is USA’s premiere authority on women’s travel and has been a frequent guest on Oprah. After one of our fun shopping tour outings in Paris, Marybeth asked if she could include my Top Myths About Paris in her guide, Best Girlfriends Getaways Worldwide, published by National Geographic. Again, I said “bien sur!” Click here to get the book and view other best-selling titles of Marybeth’s. Visit her site here.

We were thrilled when Google Canada invited Chicwalks to participate as a Google Street View Canada launch partner in 2009, along with City of Vancouver, TourismBC, Tourism Montréal and Heritage Toronto. Our partnership and friendship with Google continued throughout the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver when we participated in several fun Google events. Read the press release announcing this exciting initiative.

Few things are more thrilling than having Apple feature your app! The Chicwalks Shopping app (now retired) was featured all throughout the 2010 Winter Olympics and beyond and was downloaded tens of thousands of times. Thanks Apple for the wonderful ride and to all the media outlets who wrote about us.
